1. How do I create a challenge?
Check here to find out.
2. How do I invite friends to join my challenge?
It’s very simple. One of the last steps in creating a challenge is inviting your friends to compete. Enter their email addresses in the invitation box and we will send them an email that directs them to an invitation page summarizing the specifics of your challenge. There your friends can accept or decline your invitation. If an invitation recipient is already a ToesCrossed member, in addition to the email, they will receive a message on their My Page. You can track the invitation responses on your Challenge page.
3. How many people can I invite to a challenge?
There is no limit on the number of people in a challenge.
4. How long may a challenge last?
There are no limitations on challenge duration. However, keep in mind that the longer the challenge the less interested and driven participants become. We suggest that you break the main goal into small attainable ones. For example, if your group has a 20 pound challenge in mind, consider breaking it up into two successive challenges of 10 pounds each.
5. Why is PayPal on the challenge creation form?
For challenges with monetary prize pots PayPal can be a great tool to gather participant’s contributions.
6. Who is the challenge organizer?
The challenge organizer is the member who creates the challenge.
7. What are the responsibilities of a challenge organizer?
The challenge organizer sets the terms of the challenge (duration, prize contributions can be modified after discussion with the group), invites participants, and collects/ distributes prize pot contributions.
8. How can I join a challenge?
The challenge organizer has to personally invite you to join a challenge. That means, no forwarded invitations.
9. Can anyone join a challenge?
No. In order to join a challenge you must have received an invitation from the challenge organizer. The emailed invitation identifies the invited persons and helps the organizer track accepted vs. declined invitations.
10. Can I join a challenge after the start date?
Yes. You can accept an invitation up to the last day of the challenge. The challenge organizer has the option of restarting the challenge or leaving the end date unchanged.
11. What if no one accepts my invitation for a challenge?
As challenge organizer you are automatically competing in the challenge. If no one accepts your invitation then you are your own competition. You can opt to cancel the challenge on the challenge page.
12. Who are my ToesCrossed friends?
Your ToesCrossed friends are all your current and past challenge mates. You can keep up with them by accessing their profiles or sending messages from your My Page.
13. Can I see other people’s challenges?
No, you are limited to challenges in which you are a participant.
14. What are challenge stakes?
Challenge stakes are what each group's participants contribute to the prize pot. The idea is that if the stakes are high enough participants will work harder to achieve the challenge goal. The organizer decides during the challenge setup what each person will contribute and that can range from bragging rights to prizes.
15. How does the prize pot work?
If your group decides to create a prize pot beyond bragging rights each participant commits to contributions equal to the challenge stake. The challenge organizer sets the challenge stake, i.e. the contribution type and the amount; this can range from money to household chores. As challenge invitations are accepted, the prize pot grows. The responsibility of collecting the contributions and distributing prizes to winners at the end naturally falls on the organizer. However, as a group you can decide otherwise.
16. Do I have to create a prize pot for a challenge?
No. Bragging rights are always a strong option.
17. Who collects the prize pot?
The responsibility of collecting the contributions and distributing prizes to winners at the end naturally falls on the organizer. However, as a group you can decide otherwise.
18. Who distributes the prize pot to the challenge winners?
The responsibility of collecting the contributions and distributing prizes to winners at the end naturally falls on the organizer. However, as a group you can decide otherwise.
19. How do I figure out the winner of a challenge?
ToesCrossed does all the figuring out for you. The challenge page, which is dedicated solely to your group’s challenge, tracks performances over the course of the competition. As participants achieve the challenge goal they are visually flagged as a “winner.
20. Can I participate in more than one challenge at a time?
Yes. There are no limits to the number of challenges in which you can participate. Your My Page and My Challenges pages provide a snapshot off all your activities.
21. How do I keep track of my challenges?
There are a few ways in which to track your challenges. Your My Challenges page lists all your past, current and personally created challenges.
